Build tiered cloud storage in Microsoft Azure

October 9, 2016

The Microsoft Azure Storage Blobs service is the object storage platform for all of Azure and currently stores trillions of objects with millions of transactions per second. Nearly all Microsoft services including Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Office365, XBox and Skype use Block Blobs for persistent storage. In this talk, we provide a deep architectural overview of Block Blobs and discuss the exciting new tiered storage offerings that we are adding to object storage in 2016. We discuss the ways in which you can leverage Blob Storage to build a scalable, performant and very cost efficient storage hierarchy that starts with data on premise and leads to the cloud. https://www.microsoft.com/techsummit
